Medical insurance

In Georgia, it is important to understand that the state program provides basic coverage with limitations, while private insurance is the main tool for accessing high-quality healthcare. Public healthcare is funded based on a defined list of services and system limits (the Universal Healthcare Program). Private medical insurance provides access to selected clinics under a contract, with treatment coordination and a clearer patient pathway. We act as a “guide”: we select the program and clinic network and pre-check limits, co-payments, and exclusions so the client understands not only the policy terms but also how treatment will work in practice.

State program vs Private insurance — in brief

State program
basic funding with limited services and coverage limits
Private insurance
private clinics under contract + coordination + better service and speed
Broker’s role
select clinic network, coverage, limits, and verify exclusions

Voluntary health insurance (VHI) / Private health insurance

Access to private healthcare for corporate employees and individual clients: clinics, diagnostics, and clear patient routing through assistance services.

Corporate clientsFamilies24/7 assistance

Which clinics you can visit

  • Cities in Georgia: network clinics and partner medical centers (selected based on employees’/family location).
  • Important: the exact list depends on the insurer and plan — we fix it in the quote before payment.

What is included in the plan

Outpatient clinic
general practitioner and specialists by appointment
Diagnostics
tests, ultrasound, X-ray, MRI/CT — according to the program
Emergency care
call-out and hospitalization — subject to insurer’s terms
Dental care
often with a separate limit or as an optional add-on
Medications
sometimes included, more often subject to prescription/limits

The package composition always depends on the program and limits. We present 2–3 package tiers (economy/standard/premium) and explain where the “pitfalls” are.

Key questions — honestly

  • Chronic conditions: most often NOT covered in the first year, although there may be exceptions — we identify them and document them in writing.
  • Doctor appointments: usually arranged through assistance (24/7 dispatcher), so you don’t have to deal with multiple clinic registrations.
  • Voluntary medical insurance for individuals: yes, sometimes more complex than for companies — however, we have ready-made family/individual packages that are not always obvious on insurers’ websites.

Personal Accident Insurance

This is not ‘treatment’, but a cash payout in case of injury, fracture, or disability. Suitable for sports, industrial work, and everyday life.

Cash payoutSports/work24/7 or work hours only

Who is it suitable for

  • Athletes and children in clubs/competitions
  • Hazardous professions and occupational risks
  • Families: everyday injuries (ice, burns, road accidents)
  • Employers as part of a benefits package

How it works

Benefit
a fixed % of the insured sum per benefit schedule
Triggers
injury/fracture/disability/death — per terms
Coverage mode
work-only or 24/7 — chosen at issuance
Sports
sports activities require correct options (we verify)

Important: accident insurance does not replace health insurance. Health insurance organizes treatment, while accident insurance provides cash for rehabilitation, expenses, and loss of income.

About the benefit schedule

In accident insurance, the key factor is not an ‘attractive price’, but the payout table and injury definitions. We compare wording to ensure that for a typical injury the payout is predictable, not ‘at the insurer’s discretion’.

Travel insurance

For visas and travel: coverage of medical expenses abroad + assistance, as well as options for active leisure and travel-related risks.

VisaAssistanceOptions

Who needs it

  • Tourists and families on vacation
  • Business travelers and work trips
  • Students and those studying abroad
  • Those who need the policy to be accepted (consulate/employer)

If you get sick abroad

  • 1) Call the assistance service (number in the policy) — this is the key rule.
  • 2) Follow the route: clinic/doctor/hospital — as directed by the assistance service.
  • 3) Do not pay on your own without prior approval (otherwise reimbursement issues may arise).
  • 4) Keep all documents: invoices, medical reports, prescriptions.

Common add-ons

Visa
policies meeting Schengen/US/China requirements — selected correctly
COVID-19
option depends on program/country — checked before payment
Active leisure
skiing/diving/moped — often requires additional coverage
Baggage/flight
flight delay, lost baggage — service-related risks
Dental care
usually emergency only and with a limit (explained in advance)

We clarify the country, dates, visa type, and activities in advance — otherwise the policy may formally ‘exist’ but be practically useless.
